Sport Relief Week

During the week commencing Monday 19th March, Thurlby Community Primary School will be taking part in a ‘Be Healthy Bike-a-thon’ to help raise money for poor and vulnerable people in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries.

Adults who are connected with the school, i.e. staff, governors, PTFA and parents*, will be using exercise bikes to ‘cycle’ 600 miles, which equates to travelling from Bourne to John O’Groats, during the course of the week. Some of the older children in the school will also be cycling to help to rack up the miles and raise money.

As well as the whole school Bike-a-thon, each class will be organising their own sporty activities so that every pupil can get involved in some way.

We hope that you will be able to support us by collecting sponsors for the event.

Please make sure that your child comes to school in suitable sportswear for the day on Friday 23rd March, as the weather may be cold and the ground damp.

Sponsor forms and money are to be returned to school no later than Friday 23rd March.

Healthy Selfies

We would like to create a ‘Healthy Selfie’ display for Sport Relief. If you and your family would like to take part then you are to snap a selfie when you are doing something healthy and send it into school, this can be already printed or email it to and we will print it for the front entrance display.

Thank you for your support.

 * If you are interested in signing up to participate in the ‘Be Healthy Bike-a-thon’ then please contact Mrs Sewell as soon as possible.

Easter Competition

This year, to celebrate Easter, we are inviting children to decorate an egg or produce a piece of art/craft work.   Entries can take any form and judges will be looking for the most imaginative interpretation of the Easter theme.

The competition will take place on Wednesday 28th March.  Entries will be judged at 9.00am. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners in each class will be presented with a prize at an assembly later that morning, these are kindly funded by our Thurlby Parents, Teachers and Friends Association.

We would like to stress that participation is on a purely voluntary basis.
